Summer Camp. Yet, since the early’00’s summer camp has been all about getting kids out of the hectic city during the summer and out in to the country .
No longer are campfires and marshmallows what camp is all about. Today, computer screens and space camps have replaced those nature trails. In fact, college universities and city places are host to camp programs.
Children still need to make their summer break productive. So even with all those new types of summer camps, the essence and the purpose of camp remains the same. The ACA (American Camp Association) is industry organization that accredits summer camps. They are also responsible for giving gives us these figures. One can find camps that specialize in football, soccer, tennis, computer, rollerblading, space, academics, traveling, weight loss, nature, world peace, art, and much more.
There is wide variation in cost, with camp prices to suit almost every budget. Generally, programs run by organizations like churches and YMCA/YWCA tend to be less expensive than private or independent summer camp. Local government agencies such as city and county parks are the most reasonable. Day camps can range from $200 to $1000 per week, while overnight experiences range from $400 to $1200 per week.

Swift Nature Camp is a non-competitive, traditional coed Overnight Summer Camp. Boys and Girls Ages 6-15 enjoy nature, animals and camp fun. Swift specializes in programs for the first time camper as well as adventures for teens. Jeff and Lonnie Lorenz have been the owners since’96.
