The first season of American Idol is one that many people remember. Do you remember the first time that you watched an episode of American Idol? Each week that the season progressed saw more and more viewers tuning in to watch. The quality of the performances also seemed to get better and better as the weeks went on.

Karaoke has been around for a long time, but it certainly took an upswing in sales with the American Idol show. The fact that a waitress from Texas could come on a show like that and win a million dollar contract to sing was amazing to most people. From the time that the show began, the music, and consequently the karaoke industry, changed for the better.

Once this show got steam every wannabe singer started to come out of nowhere. The karaoke industry saw a big jump in karaoke sales, including karaoke cds. Everyone seemed to be practicing their singing so that they could try out for the next season of American Idol.

If you have never done karaoke, then you are missing out. Sure, at first, it is a bit nerve racking to do, even in the comfort of your own home with only your kids and spouse listening. However, the words move fast across the screen and it is tough to just read the words let alone sing them.

After you have become the pro at home, singing along just fine with the karaoke machine you will feel more confident to go to a party that will have karaoke. It is not a bad idea to take your own karaoke cds to the party so that you can sing the songs that you have already mastered at home.

At that first karaoke party you will find it fun to watch others do karaoke. There is always someone there that is a really good singer, but is a bit too humble about it and they will never even think about trying out for American Idol. Then there is the person that things that they are good and they will not hesitate to try out for American Idol despite some friendly persuasion that it is not really a good idea

One of the best things about karaoke is the variety of karaoke cds that can be found for sale. Those who enjoy classical music or musicals may think that this is strictly for clubs and bars which play pop rock and country music. However, there are karaoke cds with classical and musical type music on them.

A new generation has come alive to music again thanks in large part to American Idol. In the seventies it was popular to be a part of a band and that continued to the early eighties, but soon faded in the late eighties and nineties and was continuing on a downhill trend. This new surge in the interest of music has also impacted the karaoke industry.

Karaoke is a lot funner when you are singing songs that you get to choose. Be sure to go on the internet and look for karaoke cds in the style of your preference and let the good times roll.
