Great Christmas Gifts for Guys
Do you want to know what dads really want for Christmas? Dads want gifts that fulfill their manly man needs and wants. So what does that mean exactly? Dads needs almost always fall into these categories-teams, fellowship and neediness. What? Bare with me, anything involving teams whether it’s on one, watching one, playing one on a game, doesn’t matter. Fellowship with other fellows over some cold beverages can’t be beat. Regardless of what they say they need to be needed. Repair this…fix that…guys need it. Keep reading for the best Christmas gifts for dad.
Cornhole Set-That’s right cornhole. If you are unfamiliar with this, let’s just say it is the ultimate beer drinking past time. There are 2 boards about 25 feet apart with a 6″ hole cut in the middle. 2 teams-of-2 pair off and throw bean bags filled with…you guessed it, corn, at the opposite board trying to throw the bag in. First team to 21 wins. This is the perfect beer drinking “sport”. It actually has gained popularity in the last year or two and you would be hard pressed not to find 100 people playing this at the nearest football tailgating event. You can get logo’s put on them of his favorite team, designs, even a picure of a beer. This is my top pick for the best christmas gift for dad this year. I have a set and I absolutely love them. It’s actually fun for the whole family, if he let’s you all play.
LCD HD TV-No “man cave” is complete without life-size football players biting the dust 5 feet from you. The bigger the better. I would definitely not go with anything smaller than 42″. Surround sound, a DVR, subscription to that “season pass” thing where you can watch every single game and again you are done shopping for dad. A definite best christmas gift if he doesn’t already have one.
Riding Lawn Mower-Yes I know your yard is probably not that big but nothing says I love you more than making this weekly task as easy as it can be for you. Not to mention the endless hours of tinkering these provide, plus the hours of detailed cleaning he’ll want to do to it. And just think how macho he will feel riding that thing around with his chest puffed out while everyone else is pushing their yard. There are several types and models you can get and I will be recommending some great choices in just a bit.
A Smoker-Smokers take “king of the grill” to a whole new royalty level. Now, if your dad doesn’t have a grill or his is seriously outdated, I would definitely suggest getting him a nice grill. Go ahead and get stainless steel, that’s what he’ll like because that’s how we are. Actually, they make several combo models that are a grill and a smoker. Perfect for the dad in need of both. But a smoker truly exemplifies what dads like to do. The smoker will actually make your food taste great and he will get to stay outside all day, drink beer and play cornhole while he babysits it. A total win-win for everyone. If in doubt, a smoker is a great christmas gift for dad. Throw in a bag of hickory chunks and 10 lb boston butt and your shopping is over.
Cookware-Does your dad love to cook? If he is the main chef around your house, nothing will bring a smile to his face like a set of stainless steel(remember shiny is good) pots and pans. Technology has advanced just about every realm of our lives including cookware. If the kitchen gadgets haven’t been upgraded in awhile you will be pleasantly surprised with the choices and quality of cookware available. I personally recommend a set made from 18/10 or better stainless steel with a good hard anodized inner coating making it non-stick. If your dad is real “old school”, the stainless steel variety with the copper bottoms are still a great choice as well.
