My Perspectives From A Homeschool Parent

Learning About Cotton - First Hand

Sep 19th, 2006 • Category: Homeschool

We took a drive over the weekend. We really had no where in mund we were going, we just wanted to show the kids some new stuff. And boy, we had no idea how good of a day it was going to be. One of the things we came across was a cotton field. Our son had never seen cotton like this, nor had Lee. So obviously we parked the car and played with the cotton. Then we told them what all items were made from cotton, and why it is important for cotton to grow. We also explained this is why it is important for it to rain, to help the cotton grow, so we can actually have some clothes to wear. Maybe a stretch on that, but the kids won’t be so distressed when it rains the next time.

Just a picture of our son getting to touch the cotton.

He had so much fun that day!! And so did we!!

  1. Hello from Singapore!

I have never seen a cotton plant too! Thanks for the pic. Hope to see one & touch it, one day.
